Weekly update from Mrs Bowe

It has been lovely to still see some sunshine as we bring our first full week of the new term to a close. The children have settled back into school life remarkably well, quickly adapting to their new classes, embracing the standards being set, and establishing solid daily routines.
A warm thank you to all the parents and grandparents who came to our 'Meet the Teacher' session on Thursday. It was lovely to welcome you into school, and I know it meant a lot to the children to be able to share such a big part of their lives with you.
Our after-school clubs have also got off to a fantastic start and have been well-attended across the board. It is great to see so many children enthusiastically taking part in extra-curricular activities right from the beginning of term.
In our collective worships, we continue to focus upon our core value of 'Respect'. Throughout the week, we have been thinking about how we can show respect to one another in our everyday actions, and reflecting on how being treated with respect makes everyone feel safe, valued, and happy.
Looking ahead, our Harvest Festival this year is on Friday 16th October at 2:00pm. As part of our harvest celebrations, we will once again be collecting non-perishable food and essential items to support our local food bank. Harvest is a traditional time for reflecting on gratitude and community, and supporting the food bank allows us to put our Christian values into practice. With many local families facing rising living costs, our contributions provide vital emergency parcels to neighbours who are experiencing hardship, ensuring that everyone in our local area has access to essential food and support. More details about suggested donation items will be shared closer to the date.
