Our Weekly Update from Mrs Bowe...
8 May 2026
Our Reception and Class 1 children had a fantastic final PE session with Caine this week. It has been brilliant to watch their confidence and coordination grow over the past weeks. We’d like to extend a big thank you to Caine for making fitness so much fun for our youngest learners.
Next week is a BIG one for our Year 6 children as they begin their KS2 SATs. To Alfie, Jack, Mia, Angelica and Faith: You’ve got this! We have seen how hard you have worked, and we are already so proud of you. Remember, these tests are just a chance to show what you know, but they don't measure how kind, creative, or brilliant you are as individuals. Take a deep breath, do your best, and know that the whole school is here for you.
A Request for All Other Year Groups: To ensure our Year 6s have the best possible environment to concentrate, please could you chat with your children this weekend about the importance of being extra quiet and calm in the corridors and shared spaces next week. We want to transform the school into a peaceful sanctuary so our oldest children can think clearly and stay focused.
The Access and Inclusion officer visited school today. Her visit served as a timely reminder that consistent school attendance is the single most important factor in a child’s social and academic progress. Every day in the classroom counts toward building their confidence and ensuring they don't miss out on vital learning.
She reinforced that holidays taken during term time will be strictly monitored and acted upon in line with local authority guidelines. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring your children are in school and ready to learn during the term.
We had some "un-hedge-pected" excitement today! A hedgehog decided to pay us a surprise visit on the school grounds. It provided a wonderful moment of wonder for the children (and staff!), reminding us all to keep our eyes peeled for the little wonders right on our doorstep.
Today, the whole school joined together to celebrate the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough.
The impact Sir David has had on our understanding of the planet is phenomenal. For a century, he has been the voice of the natural world, teaching us about the delicate balance of our ecosystems and the beauty of every living creature—from the deepest oceans to the tiniest garden hedgehogs.
His legacy isn't just in the incredible documentaries we watch, but in the spark of curiousity he ignites in children. Happy Birthday, Sir David!
