Our Weekly Update from Mrs Bowe...
13 March 2026
After the horrible weather we endured yesterday, it feels like a miracle to have the sun shining today!
A huge thank you to everyone who has sent in donations for our Chocolate Bingo. We have been overwhelmed by your generosity. We are looking forward to seeing lots of you there on Thursday at 5:30 pm for an evening of fun and delicious prizes. Everyone is welcome!
Classes 2 and 3 had a fantastic time this afternoon during their "Dream Jobs" session. It was a fantastic interactive session designed to raise aspirations and get the children thinking about their futures.
The children dove into some fascinating topics, including the world’s most dangerous jobs and the best jobs in existence, and how AI and robotics are shaping the future of work, as well as challenging professional stereotypes.
They also spent time building with LEGO to sharpen their creativity, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. It was brilliant to see them so engaged and thinking big!
We are proud to be supporting the Parish Council in their campaign to keep our village clean and free from dog mess. To help educate our children, the local dog warden will be visiting the school soon to speak with them about the importance of being responsible pet owners and always picking up after our dogs.
We are delighted to welcome Miss Cameron back to Class 1 next week. She is joining us as a trainee teacher from the University of Cumbria.
On Monday, our Reception and Class 1 children will be visiting St Kentigern's Church in Aspatria for their "Experience Easter" event. This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to celebrate our various Easter traditions and reflect on our Christian celebrations.
As we move toward the end of the term, I would appreciate it if you could help reinforce our Golden Rules at home:
1. Kind hands and feet.
2. Kind words.
When everyone sticks to these simple, positive habits, it makes school a much happier, safer, and more welcoming place for every single child. Thank you for your continued support with this.
