We have finally reached the end of what felt like a very long January! We are now heading into the shortest month of the year, which thankfully takes us one step closer to spring. I spotted some snowdrops in our EYFS outdoor area this week; they certainly made me smile and reminded me of the positive times and brighter days ahead.

A huge well done to Class 3, who attended a dance festival today with Andy and several other schools. I’ve seen them practising their routines in the hall, and they were fantastic! The children showed their amazing character by being really supportive of their peers from other schools, with some of our children even joining in with the other schools' dances! We were also incredibly proud that a few of our children were personally asked by Andy to perform an individual piece for the other schools. What a wonderful showcase of their talent and confidence!

Next week is shaping up to be a busy one… On Monday morning, the children will participate in a Stringed Music Workshop. Mr. Mogford will be visiting to lead this. Introducing children to various instruments is far more than just making noise; it is a vital developmental tool. Exploring new sounds boosts brain power and memory, while the precision required to handle strings or a bow sharpens fine motor skills. Most importantly, finding an instrument that "clicks" builds lasting confidence and offers children a rewarding new way to express themselves.

On Wednesday, Class 2 will be heading to Netherhall School to show off their skills on the dodgeball court (letter to be sent home on Monday). Good luck, team!
