As the whirlwind of another busy school week draws to a close, it's clear that calm is a superpower. Helping the children learn to 'press pause' gives them a clear head for learning, helps big worries feel smaller, and sets the stage for a much more relaxed weekend for everyone.

A random act of kindness today brightened our morning - a lovely couple, Mr. and Mrs. Bullock, arrived at school with a generous donation: a huge bag of brand-new, navy blue children's fleeces. Having recently retired from running their own embroidery business, they wanted to ensure their remaining stock went to a good home. We are so grateful for their thoughtfulness! If your child could use a new fleece, please just pop into the school office to collect one.

I would like to again offer my apologies for the closure of the EYFS class on Tuesday and Wednesday. I understand that school closures create significant logistical challenges for families, and I am most grateful for your patience and support.

The health, safety, and wellbeing of our children is our absolute priority and as a school, we must adhere to the DfE Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) regarding environment and hygiene standards. The toilets are now fully operational, and we were delighted to welcome our youngest children back into school. Thank you again for your understanding while we resolved this matter.

Class 2 had a fantastic day at Coastal School in Allonby this week! It was a day filled with exploration, creativity, and hands-on learning in the fresh sea air. They, with other schools from our cluster, were joined by Joe Harper from the Cumbria Wildlife Trust, who taught them about the significance of the newly designated Highly Protected Marine Area in Allonby Bay. The children then enjoyed a scenic walk out to the historic Salt Pans, connecting their outdoor play with the heritage of our local coastline. Between the structured sessions of the day, they were able to explore, create and play in the natural environment. Our staff were so proud - the children contributed thoughtfully to discussions and represented our school brilliantly throughout the day. Well done, Class 2!
