This week, firstly, I would like to focus upon the staff in our school - last Thursday, they worked diligently to overcome the horrendous weather and travelling conditions we faced in our locality, ensuring our school remained safe and viable to be open. I am so grateful for their unwavering commitment and dedication to our children - thank you!

The start of last week was marked by meaningful reflection. I was immensely proud of the children during our Remembrance Day assembly. Their contributions were thoughtful and respectful, truly honouring the occasion. Thank you to all the family and friends who joined us; your presence made the service especially poignant.

Our Year 4 children embarked on a new musical journey last week, having their first recorder lesson with Marion. She was impressed with their enthusiasm to learn a new skill and noted how hard they all tried. She is eagerly anticipating their progress as budding musicians.

We also celebrated literature and humour by observing Michael Rosen Day. This provided an opportunity to open our minds to the world of funny poetry. The children loved joining in with Michael Rosen himself as he recited some of his most famous 'Funny Foods' poems during a live webinar.

Finally, we ended the week with another fantastic charitable effort, celebrating and doing our bit for two causes very close to our heart: Children in Need and Type Onesie Day. A big thank you must go to Alfie, who prepared and shared his presentation with us all about a ‘Day in the Life of a Type Onesie'. He courageously spoke about the challenges he faces and how Type 1 Diabetes affects his daily life. His open and honest sharing educated us all and provided a powerful and personal context for our 'Type Onesie Day' fundraising. The school was a sea of pyjamas and enthusiasm as we sold Pudsey headbands and pens, and the children enjoyed the 'Challenging ourselves to 25' activity, honouring the year 2025. Thank you for your continued generosity in supporting these charities.
