Our Weekly Update from Mrs Bowe...
24 October 2025
What an incredible finish to the longest half term of the year! We’re ending on a high, filled with fantastic community spirit and memorable events. Thanks to everyone for their continued support—it really does make our little school special.
Our school community came together brilliantly this week. A massive thank you to everyone who baked and bought for the Bake Sale! We raised a fantastic £148.10 for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The Great Tech Trek was, without a doubt, a pinnacle in my time so far as headteacher! Approximately 80 people—children, family, and friends—joined us on a beautiful, sunny day. A special thank you to the Moody Cow for the delicious milkshakes and their generous hospitality. We are immensely proud to announce we've raised over £2338 so far!
Yesterday, the children in EYFS and Class 1 had a visit from Jacob, a trainee guide dog, and his trainer, Susan. They learned all about the intensive training that guide dogs undergo and the important job they do helping their owners. Susan shared how the children’s fundraising from the Bake Sale will go towards purchasing a guide dog harness. She explained that this harness is the literally the connection between the dog and its owner. It was a great lesson in generosity and service!
Classes 2 and 3 enjoyed a brilliant afternoon at Beach School yesterday. They embraced the outdoor learning environment with a fun scavenger hunt for different organisms, creative stone stacking, and some amazing rock art using special rock pencils. A great afternoon was had by all!
We wrapped up the week with a spooktacular time at the Halloween Disco! The costumes were fantastic—some were actually really scary! It was also lovely to welcome back some of our past pupils who showed us the best way to wrap a mummy! It is telling that these young people still feel a strong connection to our school community.
Cricket Chris will be joining us next half term to deliver some expert coaching. Class 2 will be benefiting from his skills on the first three Mondays of the next half term. Please ensure all Class 2 pupils have their full PE kit in school on these days. He will also be leading an after-school Cricket Club for children in Years 1 to 6. The club will run every Monday from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM. Please let your child’s teacher know via Class Dojo if your child would like to attend. As with our other after-school clubs, the cost is £1 per week. Please send payments to the school office.
I hope everyone has a lovely and restful half-term break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed on Monday 3rd November - before we know it, we’ll be thinking about—dare I say it... Christmas!
