Our Weekly Update from Mrs Bowe...
3 October 2025
This week, Classes 2 and 3 had a fantastic time with our 'Experience Harvest' sessions, where they explored five key elements of the harvest season. They focused on the role of fishermen in the Bible, the bounty we get from our gardens, how farm animals contribute to the overall harvest, the importance of things we can get from the earth, including clay, and the harvesting of wheat and the crucial impact of the weather on its success. I was so proud of how the children contributed to all the sessions – they were an absolute credit to our school!
Get your walking shoes ready for our exciting fundraising event! The 'Great Tech Trek' sponsored walk is happening on Wednesday, October 22nd. This trek will take us from Allonby to The Moody Cow and aims to raise funds to purchase new tablets for use across the school. Everyone—parents, family, and friends—is welcome to join us. We encourage your child to collect sponsorship to help us reach our technology goal – sponsor forms and more information will be sent out soon.
I can’t believe it is that time of year again - our school Halloween Disco! This year it will be held on Thursday, October 23rd, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Tickets are £3 per child and include a hot dog and a drink. We can't wait to see all the ‘spooktacular’ costumes!
I would like to wish good luck to our Years 5 and 6 children who will be participating in their first sports tournament of the year. They will be playing High 5 Netball at Netherhall School on Wednesday, October 8th. I am excited to cheer them on! A separate letter will be sent with further information about this event.
We currently have a vacancy for a Parent Governor on our Governing Body. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in the strategic leadership and development of the school. If you are interested in contributing to the future of our school community, we encourage you to consider applying. Information regarding the role, eligibility, and the nomination process can be found in a separate letter sent via email, on the school website or obtained from the school office. Please submit your nomination form by 18th November 2025.
