Our Weekly Update from Mrs Bowe...
22 September 2025
Despite the rainy weather, the atmosphere in school has been happy. It has been so encouraging to see how well all the children have settled into their new classes and routines. The consistency across school is really paying off, and we are seeing some great work as a result.
The after-school clubs are buzzing with energy and are being really well-attended. It is wonderful to see the children engaging in new activities and developing new skills.
Our Yoga and Mindfulness Club provides a peaceful space for children to learn valuable skills that benefit their well-being. In the club, they are learning simple techniques like deep breathing to help them manage their emotions. Mindfulness also helps the children handle big feelings more calmly, which leads to better decision-making and improved social skills with their friends. It's a great opportunity for them to build confidence and resilience.
Multi-Skills After-School Club is a fantastic opportunity for the children to develop a wide range of athletic abilities. Instead of focusing on just one sport, they learn fundamental skills like agility, balance, and coordination. This not only builds their confidence and self-esteem but also improves their teamwork and problem-solving skills. The variety of activities keeps the children engaged and active, helping to foster a lifelong love for exercise.
Bingo After-School Club is a fun and engaging way for the children to build key skills without even realising it! Beyond the excitement of the game they are improving their numeracy as they quickly identify numbers. It's also a great way to boost listening skills and working memory. The club provides a low-pressure environment where every child has a chance to win, helping to build their confidence, social skills, and patience.
This week, we have spent some time thinking about all the things we have to be thankful for. It can be easy to focus on the negative, especially on a dreary day, but we have been reflecting on the fact that even on the toughest days, there is always something to be grateful for. This is such a valuable lesson for us all to remember.
If your child is in year 4, 5 or 6 and would like to go on the residential trip to Robinwood, please bring the deposit by next Friday – many thanks.
