Our Weekly Update from Mrs Bowe...
6 May 2025
What a glorious week it has been! The children have really benefitted from our amazing school grounds, both learning and playing outside.
This morning we said farewell to our ten little chicks – I say, ‘little’ but they have grown so much over the last 10 days! Yesterday the children in Early Years built an exercise area for them which meant they could have a run about. The older children were then able to come and hold them – some didn’t want to let them go!
It has been lovely this week to have the opportunity to spend time with different groups of children across school, chatting with them, learning together and supporting them – they have made me smile so much!
The next few weeks are busy ones… Bank Holiday Monday, VE Day, SATs and Parents Evenings.
VE DAY – Thursday:
- 8:50am – Whole school walking to the Community Centre to watch the raising of the VE 80 Flag and listen to the Town Crier’s Proclamation. The children will then be singing some VE Day songs for the community, accompanied by Mr Clark, our Music teacher, on his accordion. Everyone is welcome to come along.
- World War II Day in school - Children and staff are invited to dress up as a child from this time, or wear army clothes, or a uniform such as Brownies/Beavers/Cubs (there is no charge for this). The children will be learning about key topics about WWII, including the Home Front, children in the war, women’s roles in the war and food and cooking.
