Our Weekly Update from Mrs Bowe...
15 November 2024
Good afternoon,
On Monday the children learned about the importance of Remembrance Day and demonstrated the respect they have by fully participating in a 2-minute silence on our playground. I was very proud of all the children.
We have had a very exciting day in school today – lots of Pudsey ears and outfits, pyjamas and the snuggliest teddy bears! The event that has generated most excitement, however, is ‘Guess the name of the teddy!’ All of the chosen names have been entered into a wheel of names, I will then click the wheel to spin it and get a random winner. Good luck everyone!
The children have really enjoyed planting our new trees this afternoon. I think it is really special that each child in school has now had an impact upon our school environment and hope that in years to come they will remember that they planted a tree and might come and see how much it has grown.
We have another busy week coming up in school…
*Monday – Y5/6 – Cricket with ‘Cricket Chris’
*Monday - Crosscanonby Baby and Toddler Group in the school hall - 1:30pm-3:00pm
*Monday - Cricket After-School Club
*Tuesday – Class 2 – Years 3 & 4 - STEAM Discovery Day at Bothel Village Hall
*Wednesday - Whole school - PE with Andy (PE kit needed)
*Wednesday - Multi-Skills After-School Club
*Thursday – Film After-School Club
*Friday – In-school theatre performance of ‘Oliver Twist’. The Arty-Fact Theatre Company is visiting our school with a wonderful adaptation of Charles Dickens OLIVER TWIST. The children will follow orphan Oliver Twist’s eventful journey through the murky streets of old London Town: meet the unscrupulous Mr. Bumble and the comical Fagin and follow his adventures with the Artful Dodger, but must remember to watch out for Bill Sykes and his dog, Bulls Eye!
Our Class Blogs will be updated by the end of today, giving you a more detailed insight into your child's week at school.
Thank you for your continued support.
Have a lovely weekend!
