Thank you so much to our amazing team of volunteers with ‘Friends of Crosscanonby St John’s’ for organising and hosting such a fantastic Hallowe’en party last Thursday – the children had a brilliant time! Well done to the children (and parents) for the ‘spook-tacular’ costumes. Thank you again!

We were very sad to say farewell to Mrs Kerr on Friday as she moves to pastures new. We wish her the very best in her new career.

Our half-term ended with the children sharing their Harvest celebrations with us all – thank you to all family and friends who came to this. The children entertained and shared their knowledge about how our food is produced and transported all around the world. As ever, I felt very proud of them all!

As we begin the second half of this term, edging closer to, dare I say it Christmas, there are some key dates for you to put on your calendars:

• Monday 4^th November – Class 3 – Cricket with ‘Cricket Chris’ – 1pm-3pm – for 3 weeks
• Monday 4^th November – Cricket after-school club – for 6 weeks
• Tuesday 5^th November – Class 3 Parents Evenings
• Wednesday 6^th November – Parents Evenings for all classes
• Wednesday 6^th November – Multi-Skills After-School Club – for 6 weeks
• Thursday 7^th November – EYFS, Class 1, Class 2 Parents Evenings
• Thursday 7^th November – Film Club – for 6 weeks
• Monday 11^th November – ‘Remembrance Day’ Assembly
• Friday 15^th November – ‘CHILDREN IN NEED’ – details to follow next week from the School Council
• Monday 25^th November – Nasal flu vaccinations for children
• Monday 9^th December – Dress rehearsals for Christmas performances
• Tuesday 10^th December – CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCES – EYFS/Class 1 – 9:30am; Classes 2&3 – 6pm
• Sunday 15^th December – ‘Carols By Candlelight’ – 3pm at the Community Centre – the children will be performing some songs from their Christmas plays
• Monday 16^th December – ‘Carols Around The Christmas Tree’ – 9:15am – ALL WELCOME
• Tuesday 17^th December – Christmas crafts day
• Wednesday 18^th December – Christmas Party Day
• Thursday 19^th December – Christmas Dinner Day
• Friday 20^th December – School closes for the Christmas holidays – 1:30pm
• Tuesday 7^th January 2025 – School reopens for Spring Term
