Good afternoon,

This week began with great excitement for the children in Years 1 and 2 as they visited The Lake District Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite. Both children and staff alike had a fantastic day! They were also so lucky that the forecasted rain missed them! The children learned lots about animal habitats.

On Wednesday, we had the NISCU Primary Puppets team in to perform an assembly for us – this is always a firm favourite, with both adults and children alike. The children learned about the story of Zacchaeus – ‘Kindness Counts’. There was singing and dancing, and some fantastic puppeteering skills from our children in Year 2.

Mrs Mogford and Miss Fyfe are running a phonics session for parents/carers of children in EYFS: Nursery and Reception and Year 1 on Tuesday 8th October, at 9:00am. After a short presentation, there will be a chance to play games with the children; don’t worry if you cannot make it, we are happy for another family member to come along.

On Friday 11th October, our Year 6 children are invited to spend the day at Netherhall School – more details have been sent in a separate letter.

* Monday - Crosscanonby Baby and Toddler Group in the school hall - 1:30pm-3:00pm

* Tuesday - Dance/Ballet After-School Club

*Wednesday - Whole school - PE with Andy (PE kit needed)

*Wednesday - Multi-Skills After-School Club

*Thursday - Bingo After-School Club

*Friday – Year 6 to visit Netherhall School
