Good afternoon,

Christmas play practices are now well underway – I can’t believe that we are at that time of year again! The singing sounds fantastic and the children’s confidence is growing every day!

Class 3, over the past couple of weeks, have been doing some clay work with Marian. They have been making their own pots based on flowers and seeds in nature – they are brilliant! Next week, the children will be painting them so that they are able to bring them home before Christmas.

Class 2 enjoyed an exciting day at Bothel Village Hall on their STEAM Discovery Day. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Maths, Art, Engineering. Representatives from Sellafield, Lake District Wildlife Park, Innovia – to name a few – provided the children with some fantastic learning experiences. They provided power to Santa’s sleigh, used BeeBots to move nuclear waste, worked together as a team to plan how to escape from the Temple of Doom and created circuits. It was also so good for the children to spend time with other children from our small school cluster.

As I write this, the theatre company is setting up in the hall for their performance of ‘Oliver Twist’. The scenery looks magnificent! I’m sure an entertaining afternoon will be had by all.

We have another busy week coming up in school…
