LATEST INFORMATION REGARDING OPENING OF SCHOOL - 4th JANUARY 2021
4 January 2021
Further to my communication yesterday and the official Cumbria County Council request for delayed opening of schools I have now spoken to the staff and my Chair of Governors and we have decided this week we will only be open to vulnerable pupils and children of critical workers. We will review this towards the end of the week when hopefully we have a bit more clarity from the DfE and Cumbria County Council, but at the minute we are proposing this as a short term measure with a view to being open to all pupils from Monday 11th January.
Staff will be emailing you shortly about whether you are a key worker and as such whether your child will be attending school this week. They will also be letting you know about how to access remote learning for those children not in school this week.
This is not a decision made lightly as we all firmly believe school is the best place for children to be, but given the current situation in the county we feel a measured approach to the return to school is the most prudent option.
As I said before the situation is very fast changing and anything we now put in place is subject to change at short notice.
