4 July 2016
The Year 5 pupils (and a few year 6 pupils) spent the day at The Wave centre today for a 'Safety First' event.
They spent time with:
- the police learning about road safety (and having a play in their van!)
- the fire service looking at house fires and how to help prevent them as well as some first aid.
- the Maryport Inshore Lifeboat crew demonstrating their kit and showing the children their boats
We also spent time walking around the harbour and identifying potential hazards.
As part of the day we had a impromptu campaign for 'Save Our Beds'. Look North were there and it will be shown at 6.10pm on BBC 1
Thank you to all those involved in organising. The children had a great day and enjoyed learning about the different things.
